Beyond the End of Life Care Strategy
National Council for Palliative Care Conference
Time: 10am to 4.30pm
Venue: Regent’s College Conference Centre,
Inner Circle, Regent’s Park, London, NW1 4NS
The End of Life Care Strategy was published in July 2008 recognising the need for good quality, coordinated end of life care across conditions. Nine months on NCPC will hold the ‘Beyond the End of Life Care Strategy’ conference looking at ways of turning this new national policy into practice. It will give delegates an opportunity to discuss specific difficulties and come up with general solutions.
This conference will review national policy and look at established, innovative examples of implementation across health and social care.
Speakers include: David Behan, Director General for Social Care; Tessa Ing, Head of End of Life Care at the Department of Health; and Mark Britnell, Director General of Commissioning and System Management at the Department of Health. There will also be a wide range of master classes that will explore in depth some of the successes in end of life care to share learning.
