Neurology tsar to be appointed
The NHS Commissioning Board has confirmed that it will be recruiting 24 National Clinical Directors (NCDs) at the start of 2013, including one for chronic disability and neurological conditions.
The NCDs work across the five Domain Leads within the Commissioning Board, with the new NCD for Chronic Disability and Neurological Conditions reporting into Dr Martin McShane, Lead for Long Term Condtions.
The appointment of a national clinical leader for neurology has been a key call of the the Neurological Alliance’s It’s time for a better deal for neurology campaign over the past 12 months and this annoncement represents a massively important development for the whole neurological community.
